Greg Hanshaw started in construction in 1982 working for a small home improvement company in the northern Virginia suburb of Mclean. Upon joining Watkins contracting, Greg rapidly rose from helper to carpenter and then project manager, building a strong skill base throughout. In 1987, Greg went to work for Craftmasters construction, seeking experience in larger scale construction. In a short time Greg was made foreman of carpentry, leading a 30+ person crew building high end colonial-style housing projects. After completing a home in Colorado, Greg switched to the Gallick Corporation where he was made general manager of many custom, single-family homes.
In 1992, Greg moved to Telluride Colorado where he quickly found work as the general manager of Boyd Construction, building several luxury mountain homes and a large commercial/residential project Greg founded Vogon Construction at that time. In 1996, Greg went on his own as owner/manager of Vogon, which grew steadily for many years, eventually specializing in fine single-family mountain homes and condominiums, amassing a wide variety of experience in project design and approval processes, engineering, working with funding institutions, project and personnel management, as well as customer relations and after sale follow up.
Over 28 years operating as Vogon Construction, Greg has successfully completed several new custom homes, numerous remodels and additions, and four large-scale residential and mixed-use buildings.
Vogon Construction continues to provide high quality building and remodeling services at a competitive price point. While usually concentrating on only one major project at a time, VCM is always ready to take care of the ongoing remodel and repair needs of our long list of clients.
